Thanks Charlie Puth for the shout out :)

Song #124 "Lonely Bones"

Underestimated the time it would take to do the Shay shout out video and I needed a little snuggle/movie time with my bf. Got done at 6 in the a.m. :/ I started a co-write with my brother Alex, and will finish it for tomorrow's song. This little diddy just came to me when I was taking a break from my other song and I went with it :)

See ya in the funny's!

Song #119 "Silver Lining"

A very unfortunate incident happened recently involving my boyfriend, a fire and a motorcycle. He is completely fine thank GOD but his motorcycle ... not so much! The whole back end was burnt down to the frame. Not only that but it was his FIRST time taking it for a spin. His reaction was "why does this happen to me?" and where is the silver lining type of thing. That is where this song came from. I liked the lyrical spin off of "You're my everything" to "You're my everything ... happens for a reason". I feel bad for him and if we find out the reason for this I'll add it later :)

Song #118 "Timothy Moore"

This song was written for a youtube friend of mine. He is in High School and has been struggling with his parent's acceptance. He asked me to write a song for him hoping my voice would be heard louder than his. I hope so too! That is a huge obligation but I though I might at least try! Good luck TImothy! Nobody will be comfortable with who you are unless you are too :) I hope this helps!

Song #116 "Cubical Smile"

This song was written with Zac Taylor. Check out his music on his myspace! His album "Salesman" on myspace! It's awesome!!!

http://www.myspace.com/zactaylor

This Co-write was great because he writes completely different than I do. I always write the lyrics/music together or write the music and put words to. Zac writes the opposite where he thinks of the story and the lyrical ideas before even touching an instrument or singing a note. I'll try that this week and see what happens.

Song #112 "Vampire"

I guess I was just feeling "Halloweenie" today! A couple of days ago I attended a clinic with Claude Kelly as the guest speaker and it was AWESOME! Very inspiring. I have been listening to a lot of top ten pop music lately and that is probably where this song came from. If you don't know Claude Kelly check out his discography here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Kelly

He was very down to earth and gave a bunch of us hope that we can make it in the music biz! A teacher of mine at Berklee said we had a better chance at winning the lottery. She is what I might call ... an optimist :) As long as I'm closer to my goal every day I feel good! I have a lot to be thankful for!

Song #111 "So Afraid"

I have been getting on average 4 hours of sleep a day so my body finally flipped me the big ole bird and made me crash. I'm sick and I slept all day today which resulted in pulling an all-nighter to finish this song (the neighbors weren't to happy) and had to stop after they pounded on the ceiling. Thankfully I had enough recorded where I could just copy and paste the chorus vocals as well as the video.

Song #110 "Time Bomb"

I wish I had more time for this song. Finished at 4 in the morning so I had to sing quietly and I wanted to belt on this one and add tons of backup vocals. If I have time in the next couple of days I'll re-record it and post the Mp3 here. GOOD NIGHT!

Song #104 "Warning Signs"

I started this song a couple days ago but quickly realized I wouldn't finish it in time so I moved to a different song ("If I could see myself). I finished all the backing tracks first (video recorded the piano part) and then sung the vocals for the video.

Thank you to my generous backers of my kickstarter project! I appreciate it! Solomon ... I love you <3

Special thank you to CN Bring. She is an author from Montana (and is doing book signings in the area so you should go check her out if you can). Below is a link to her 2 books "The Pact" and "The Lie" from the Celia Kelly Series. *If you are into mysteries you should definitely visit her site and buy her books*

Song #103 "Reptile Boy"

Soooo yesterday I finished my Kickstarter video and didn't leave much time to write this song. I finished it at 4 in the morning and had to sing quietly, so the recording and the song aren't the greatest. I think it's a song I'll pursue though because I think it could be good. I got the idea after seeing a youtube of a child with cancer sleeping with his toy alligator. I though that it would be neat to have him be a "reptile" superhero. I also really like the music in the beginning so it is definitely "in the works". So I like the idea but it didn't quite come out the way I hoped.

Song #98 "Come out, come out"

I wrote this song today after seeing this post/video by Ellen DeGeneris.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B-hVWQnjjM

This is a big subject and I could use a couple more days to brush up the lyrics (especially in the verse section). It doesn't yet have the impact I was going for. Overall though I was proud to write about this subject because it is very near and dear to my heart.

Song #97 "Lost My Mind"

Song #96 "Johnny Danger"

I've had the idea for this song for about a year. I had the "Oh Danny Danger" hook line but never made it into a song. I was going through my voice recorder of song ideas and this one jumped out at me.
I had an idea about Danny Danger as this boy who wants to be a superhero and turns to the dark side as he developes over the years. I decided to change the hook to Johnny Danger because my dad's name is Danny and I couldn't sing it without picturing my dad :/ I also though that Johnny Danger sounded better.

Song #95 "Piano Song"

I'm feeling a little sick today and my throat HURTS. Opted to do a piano song and rest up the voice a bit. This song came about because I asked my boyfriend to pick a letter between A and G. Then pick between major and minor ... and chose 4/4 or 6/8. If you know NOTHING about music this means nothing to you but it basically would tell me what "letter"/note to start on, if it sounds happy or sombre, and if it sounds like a rock song or more laid back. He chose F, minor and 6/8 (playing in F- on the piano is a beeeeoch but sounds really pretty!). So there you have it.

Song #94 "Wishing Waters"

Very quick recording at work and off to make my logo for next week. This is the "old song Sunday" song for the week. (I post an old song if mine on Sundays as well as draw my new logo for the following week) I don't remember where or why I wrote this song but it is always fun to play. Sometimes I just gots to get my "jig" on.

Song #93 "Rather Be In Love"

Picked up an extra shift today so I wasn't able to start writing until 9:00 p.m. Got done recording at 5 in the morning and my computer kept freezing because the memory is FULL! YIKES! I need an external hard drive. I uploaded the video with the smallest file size possible and that's why it looks/sounds fuzzy. This project kicks my @$$ sometimes.

Song #92 "Julie Ann"

This song began with the "oh oh oh" section and I didn't really have ideas for the lyrical content in the beginning. I kept saying "come back Peggy Ann" in the chorus and had NO idea what it meant. They were the only lines that were sticking after singing the melody over and over, so I decided to keep them and write a song to them. I knew I wanted to build the song around this "Peggy Ann" character. Who is she? Why do I want to write about her? I didn't really like Peggy Ann as the final name so I started trying different names like "Peggy Sue and Julie Sue" then once I said Julie Ann and it hit me. That's my mom's name. So there I had a character for the song.

I could probably write 365 songs about the subject of my mother alone. She is presently in prison serving a three year sentence for custody interference and probation violation. She is a very passionate person and had all of us "kids" very involved in music and sports and I am extremely grateful for her efforts. She has so many beautiful qualities and is a very sweet woman. Unfortunately she was also very unhappy and abusive physically and emotionally while we were growing up. She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I'm not sure (as I have seen and "observed" her my whole life) if that is the case or if she was just very very unbalanced and unhappy, but either way it pushed everybody in the family away.

You know how it's suggested to write a letter to someone you are having a hard time communicating with ... and then not to send it. Well songs like these are my letters to my mother ... but also happen to be posted for the world to see :/ The sharing of this song and personal story is not to vent, bash my mother or to give her a bad reputation, but to connect with people who might be experiencing a loss of a loved one ... that "narcoleptic heart" (that's a lyric from the song) that has shut the world out. I love her and am sad that she is so unhappy but ultimately I am at peace with the past.

I co-wrote the song "Behind Bars" with my brother for song #8 of the project. If you would like to listen you can view it here.

Song #91 "Don't Move A Thing"

I'm exhausted today after spending so much time on the celebrity song yesterday, so I feel like this one is half finished. I like the melody but if I was choosing it for my CD I'd rewrite pretty much all of the lyrics. At the end of the 365 days I am making two albums. One jazz/easy listening and one rock/pop. If you have any suggestions of the songs you would like to hear on the album, let me know :)

Thank you as always for listening.

Song #90 "Celebrity"

I started this song 2 days ago when I was writing for my jam with Scott Tarulli (down below). I liked the guitar part and came up with a little melody but didn't know what to write about so I moved on to the "One Time Criminal" song. But today, after watching youtube videos of the wonderful, fabulous and down right frightening Lady Gaga ... it got me on to the celebrity idea. I spent ENTIRELY too much time on the production but it was fun so hey why not. Ex-freaking-hausted!

In the video the guitar is live and I overdubbed the lead vocals because they were distorting too much in the live recording. That's why they look out of sync at times.

Special shout out to Judy Shannon. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!!!

Scott Tarulli's Solo (From take 4)

Here is an outtake from my session with Scott Tarulli. Check out his solo. He's awesome! He has a 3rd album coming out soon. Check out his website: http://scotttarulli.com/
